Every person that consideres themselves in the music business needs to read this book front to back. Jeffrey and Todd Brabec are two HUGE inside players in the music industry. I know we usually focus on the New Music Industry here but you have to understand where the industry came from to understand what will shape the future.  This book lays out EXACTLY how all payments are collected from every possible use of music and writing imaginable. In otherwords, if you want to make money from music, you MUST read this book!

I actually used this book for my text in my Music 199 – Music Industry class at U of O and it was a great text. I was just starting all of my businesses at that point so the text went straight to work right away! I actually submitted our first artist contract for an assignment and wrote it myself! This is a college level music business text that is a little dry but a must read at the same time.
